Ecological and Social Benefits

  • Based on the sponge city concept, Sanya Dong'an Wetland Park has demonstrated significant improvements in the water environment and increased citizen satisfaction.
  • Through questionnaire surveys and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), the study concluded that water quality, green planting, and convenient external transportation are the key factors affecting park satisfaction, with weights of 16.48%, 13.11%, and 14.43%, respectively. Water quality scored the highest (4.60), indicating that the park performs well in rainwater detention and water quality purification, effectively solving urban flooding issues. Citizens have high evaluations of infrastructure maintenance (4.48) and public security management (4.74), with overall satisfaction being good.
  • The study suggests that by optimizing the scale of water features, increasing plant diversity, and improving management and maintenance levels, the park's ecological functions and citizens' usage experience can be further enhanced, becoming a typical demonstration in the construction of sponge cities.
