Tianjin Qiao Yuan Park has effectively improved the ecological environment of saline-alkali land through the concept of "Design Ecology", reducing the soil pH value to 7.6-8 and the electrical conductivity range to 0.2-6.26 dS/m, indicating mild to moderate salinization, significantly lower than the overall level of saline-alkali land in Tianjin.
In the landscape design, the adjustment of micro-topography and the pond system have achieved the accumulation of salts from higher to lower areas, with an increase of 8.45% in areas with higher salt accumulation, and the lower soil salt content is 13.6% higher than the upper part, significantly improving the original site's soil salinization conditions.
This case study has verified the efficiency of landscape design in ecological restoration and provides a promotable design model for urban parks and green space landscapes on saline-alkali land.
