Valdivia Wetland City Seminar

Achieving the accreditation of "Valdivia Wetland City"granted by the Ramsar Convention,not only represents an internationally prestigious recognition that confirms a citizen and institutional trajectory of commitment and will with the essence of Valdivia-itswetlands,butalso represents new challenges for the planning and management of these important ecosystems in ourterritory.

While there is considerable scientific evidence,consensus and cross-cutting recognition of the ecosystem benefits of wetlands in the city,little is known and even less has been discussed regarding their economicvaluation and local impact.

The Municipality of Valdivia,the Honorable Senator Alfonsode Urresti and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Chile,together with the Rio Cruces Wetlands Centre,the Centre for Sustainable Urban Development and Consorcio Valdivia Sustentable invite you to participate in a public,private and social meeting that will address newchallengesand opportunitiesforsustainable development and the economy of Valdivia.
