On November 16, 2022, the West Midlands National Park Awards will be held at Birmingham City University in the UK. Before the award ceremony begins, the organizer has invited Professor Yu Kongjian, Academician of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Dean of the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at Peking University, and Founder of Turen Design, to deliver the annual lecture titled "Sponge City and Sponge Watershed."
Sponge cities and sponge planets are nature-based holistic solutions that help us protect and restore the ecological environment. By harnessing the power of nature, we can capture water, filter water, adapt to water, and coexist with floods, embodying a philosophy entirely different from traditional gray infrastructure.
