The Second UN Environment Programme Cities and Regions Summit

As part of the Fifth United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA), the Second UNEP Cities and Regions Summit will be held online on February 23, 2022. The theme of this year’s summit is "Flip the Script: Cities and Nature", focusing on reimagining cities as champions of nature and exploring how urban areas can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Prominent speakers include:

Kongjian Yu, Professor at Peking University’s College of Architecture and Landscape, and Chair of the Landscape and Beautiful China Construction Committee under the Chinese Society for Urban Studies.

Jennifer Lenhart, Global Lead for Cities at WWF.

Stewart Maginnis, Deputy Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
