Shanghai Houtan Park won the Best New Architecture in United States for 2011

SEPTEMBER 1, 2011 the winners of the prestigious American Architecture Awards for 2011 were announced. Three projects from china including SHANGHAI HOUTAN PARK by Turenscape leading by Professor Kongjian Yu won this prestigious award. The other two winners from China are HORIZONTAL SKYSCRAPER VANKE CENTER at Shenzhen, China by Steven Holl Architects and CHONGQING RIVER TOWER by SOM.
 
 
The American Architecture Awards is organized annually by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, The American Architecture Awards are the highest and most esteemed recognition for the best new building design produced by leading architects, urban planners, and landscape architects in the United States.
 
The 45 selected projects and the architecture firms behind them represent exceptional work by architects practicing in the United States in four categories: interiors, architecture, un-built work and urban design. Each winning project was chosen for its exemplary originality, highest aesthetic criteria, and contribution to the Green movement. The criteria used by the jury included design quality, program resolution, innovation, thoughtfulness and technique. Projects had to be completed by architects/designers as of 2009, including practitioners either practicing or having offices in the United States.
 
 
All winning work for 2011 will be exhibited at, “New World Architecture,” which takes place at the XIII BA11-International Biennial of Architecture Buenos Aires. The exhibition takes place at Centro Cultural Recoleta at Jun in 1930 (C.P. 1113) Buenos Aires.
