Two projects of Turenscape have been awarded International Architecture Awards 2012. They are Stormwater Park: Qunli National Urban Wetland and Shanghai Houtan Park.
In 2012, over sixty cutting-edge new works of architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture from over 28 nations were selected and awarded for their design excellence by a distingushed jury of Norwegian architects and educators. for almost a decade, the Interantional architecture awards, organized by The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, remain the world's oldest and most comprehesive public program that promotes the best new design as a truly global phenonmenon. The International Architecture Awards reflect the changing state of global architecture and reveal emerging new design directions by today’s most visionary practitioners.
The international architectural awards are the highest and most prestigious distinguished building awards program that honor new and cutting-edge design. This annual program, organized by both our institutions, also promotes international architecture and design to our public audience globally.
For 2012, the Museum received a record number of projects for newbuildings, landscape architecture, and urban planning from the most important firms practicing globally.featured works include new new skyscrapers, corporate offices, commercial high-rise towers, apartments, mid-rise housing, churches and chapels, museums, cultural institutions, libraries, colleges and schools, restaurants, exposition buildings, hotels and resorts, auditoriums, affordable housing, religious structures, private residence, outdoor markets, art galleries, sports facilities, banks, hospitals and health clinics, auditoriums, transportation centers, restorations and renovations, embassies, interiors, bridges, plazas and boulevards, city planning, and landscape architecture.
In October, 2012, The Chicago Athenaeum, together with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies will present a special exhibition of all awarded buildings at our annual symposium, "The City and the World" in Istanbul, Turkey and in conjunction with the Istanbul Biennial.
