The Turenscape Consortium was also selected as one of the top six groups to present a design plan for Zaryadye Park. Their vision is called The Blue Circle of Moscow. Although it didn't ultimately win the contest, the architects' care to include native plants and sustainability into the design is impressive.
Turenscape set out to design a park to serve as "an urban ecosystem that provides multiple eco-services to the city and people."

Their entry includes five landscape elements: gardens, a meadow, wetlands, a birch forest and a reflecting pond. According to the architects, the reflecting pond is part of "a functional ecosystem that cleans and filtrates the city's storm water and snowmelt to support native biodiversity" across the new Zaryadye Park.
Turenscape Consortium is sharing its entry with weather.com, and you can check them out in the slideshow above. The consortium has a large portfolio of sustainable landscape and architecture projects and you can see more here on their website.
