The G20 Leaders Summit includes twenty countries in the world, and its aim is to provide global platform for global financial economy and promote the development of economy growth.
The G20 Leaders Summit will bring intense global and national interest, so in order to seize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Brisbane Marketing has identified the need to create a series of high-profile initiatives to ensure that the G20 will leave a valuable long-term legacy for the city. One of the most significant activities is the Brisbane Global Café.

The Brisbane Global Cafe has been established as an epicenter of global thought leaders.
Initially, it will exist as an online hub to highlight breaking and exclusive news stories. In addition, it will host a series of events in the months leading up to the G20; as well as a two-day signature event during the G20 week.

The global cafe reflects Brisbane’s desire to create a tradition of host cities enriching the G20 experience with a thought leadership program that deepens the global conversation and champions issues of importance to the city.

The two-day Brisbane Global Cafe event will be divided into a series of sessions. Each session will cover one of the key themes and include a central keynote address by at least one significant international speaker (600-800 pax) and several smaller panel discussions to explore topics raised (100-150 pax).

At the same time, each theme has a Brisbane Global Cafe Chair to steer the conversations:
• Improving human life- Brisbane cervical cancer vaccine pioneer Professor Ian Frazer
• New Frontiers of Tourism-national tourism identity Christopher Brown AM
• Cities of the future-UK-based advisor for cities and business Greg Clark
• Powering future economies – energy - CSIRO executive Dr Alex Wonhas
• The Digital Age-international entrepreneurial leadership and business growth expert Dr Jana Matthews.

Besides these people, there are other participants, such as Liu Shengyi, Xu Weiping, Chris Whelan, Jordi William , Alan Berube , Andrew Boraine , Marita Cheng ,John Morse and so on.

The Brisbane Global Cafe is an exciting new concept that will help Brisbane stake its claim as a rising star in Asia Pacific and a serious player on the world stage, and it will ensure the G20 helps to forge a new era of economic prosperity, leaving a valuable legacy for this city.
