NOVOPERFIL: Kongjian Yu makes First Appearance in Portugal at NBS Summit Urban Edition

The event, supported by the municipality through Águas e Energia do Porto, will bring together leaders, experts, researchers, and professionals to share cutting-edge research and innovations in the field of Nature Based Solutions (NBS) and sustainable urban development.

ANCV has just announced the presence of renowned landscape architect Kongjian Yu as a special guest at the highly anticipated NBS Summit Urban Edition.

A Harvard GSD graduate (1995), Dean of the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at Peking University, and founder of Turenscape—one of China's most prominent landscape architecture firms with over 500 collaborators—Yu has become one of the most important and visionary figures in the urban transformation of contemporary cities. Alongside his extensive design practice that integrates solutions blending traditional and contemporary Chinese elements, Yu is equally recognized for developing the ecological design concept of Sponge City. Throughout his career, Yu has received numerous accolades, including the IFLA Sir Geffrey Jellico Award (2020) and the Oberlander International Landscape Architecture Prize (2023)—the highest recognition from the International Federation of Landscape Architects. To date, Yu has developed over 600 built projects in more than 200 cities, primarily across Asia.
