LA NACION: Sponge Cities: Design and Resilience Against Flooding
It seems that the strategy of "fighting against climate change" is no longer effective. What if we change it to "adapt no matter what"? What do I mean by this? Phenomena like floods, which are gaining more and more strength (for example, the case in Brazil), show us that they won't stop in the near future. On the contrary, they are becoming more extreme.
So why not confront it with a different strategy? According to landscape architect Kongjian Yu, the solution isn't to rely on barriers and drainage systems, but rather to allow water into the cities.
