alephUAM_A: Dr. Yu-Pioneer of Eco-Cities

The world leader in Ecological Urbanism, Dr. Kongjian Yu, visited Mexico City at the end of November. As part of his significant agenda, the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana had the honor of hosting him at the Arq. Pedro Ramírez Vázquez Auditorium of the General Rectorate. We had the opportunity to attend his keynote lecture: Methodology of Strategic Security Patterns and Eco-Cities: Experiences from Ecological Urbanism in China and around the world.

Dr. Kongjian Yu's theoretical and practical work has revolutionized the field of conventional hydrological engineering, challenging its high financial, environmental, and social costs. He has developed ecological infrastructure solutions at local, regional, national, and global scales, with much lower costs and maintenance requirements than conventional engineering, while also providing numerous social benefits.
