The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) promoted the debate "City Reconstruction and Climate Change: International and National Experiences for Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil" on Tuesday (June 18). The institution's president, Aloizio Mercadante, highlighted the importance of the green agenda.
Sponge Cities
In the second part of the seminar, BNDES hosted two international guests: Kongjian Yu, an architect and landscape designer from Peking University, pioneer of the sponge cities concept and winner of the 2023 Oberlander Prize, and Emma Torres, Vice President for Latin America at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and Co-Chair of SDSN Amazon.
