The prestigious Peking University announced yesterday the founding of the country’s fist graduate school of landscape architectural studies.
The newly established Graduate school of Landscape Architecture at Peking University is a timely response to the lack of skilled professionals in the field, particularly in urban design, in China, said university officials.
The rapid Process of urbanization in China has been changing greatly the urban environment in the country and the professional demand for landscape architects has prompted the new development.
Yu Kongjian, the director of the newly founded school, said his school will work closely with the government to look for solutions to complex problems arising in the urban design field during China’s urbanization process.
