From June 8 to June 13, 2003 Turenscape’s principal designer Prof. Kongjian Yu went to the US for the scheme report at the middle phase of the Big Dig in Boston. The project is the urban design of the last section above the ground of the Big Dig called the “American century project” which was successfully bid jointly by Turenscape and CRJA at the beginning of this year.
During the five days in the US, Prof. Kongjian Yu enthusiastically communicated and exchanged ideas with local experts and the public. In the session of the scheme introduction and question-and-answer, Prof. Kongjian Yu passionately described and demonstrated the concrete structure of the project design and its unique details. He infused the whole scheme with an active and modern style, and his desire to lead the international fashion of landscape architecture could be truly felt by the westerners, as well as his deeply rooted love for China. He received unanimous compliments from the audience.
