Located at the confluence of the Wuyi and Yiwu Rivers, which flow into the Jinhua River, the Yanweizhou (“sparrow tail”) Park is one of the last areas of natural riparian wetland, with an extension of over 25 hectares. While the “isolation” of this tongue of land has preserved it from heavy infrastructural interventions and from the erection of concrete retaining walls, it prevents it from being readily
accessible even after the construction of the Opera House.
