Kazan Kaban Lakes Waterfront

Abstract：
With this project, completed in 2018, Turenscape made its debut in the European continent. The firm was awarded the commission after winning an international competition launched by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia in the context of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Located in the Tatar capital of Kazan (population 1.2 million), the project aims at developing for the first time a mineral waterfront on the Lower Kaban Lake shoreline, an articulated lake basin of about 186 hectares connected to the Volga river.
