- Visible against a background of naturalterrain and vegetation in this Qinhuangdaopark is the Red Ribbon,a fiberglass structurethat extends 500 meters(547 yards)throughthe landscape.It integrates lighting,seating,environmental interpretation,and orientation into its sinuous red form.While pre-serving as much of the natural river corridoras possible,the project demonstrates howa minimal design solution can achieve dramatic improvement in the landscape.
