- Dujiangyan Square sits in the middle of adilapidated and nondescript old town.Thedesign wasinspired by regional and local life-styles,irrigation works,and natural and cul-tural landscapes.With a budget of less than40 US dollars per square meter (3.7 US dol-lars per square foot),the project tells ancientstories in a modern language and wasdesigned to attract tourists as well as meetthe daily needs of local citizens.
