- Boston,Massachusetts,had a world-classtraffic problem.The Massachusetts TurnpikeAuthorityengineered an immense and costlysolution,the Central Artery/Tunnel Project,commonly called“The Big Dig.”The Big Digcreated more than 121 hectares (300 acres)of landscaped and restored open space,including some forty-five parks and majorpublic plazas.The Chinatown project is oneof these parks.
