Project Information

Project Location:
China Haikou,Hainan
Project Scale:
158 Square Kilometer
Design Time:
2015

Project Profile

Haikou's Jiangdong is frequently affected by tides and typhoons, leading to severe coastal erosion and increasingly fragile coastal ecosystems. The flood control capacity on the east bank of the Nandu River is weak, and the threat of flooding remains unresolved. Due to climate influences, the area experiences alternating droughts and floods, with frequent urban flooding, making safety a significant concern.

The plan aims to comprehensively address these water issues through multi-scale strategies. At the macro level, landscape security approaches are employed to establish water ecological infrastructure, delineate ecological redlines, and strictly protect the integrity and continuity of the spatial pattern of water ecological infrastructure. At the meso level, coordination with existing control regulations ensures that water ecological infrastructure can be implemented, with corresponding guidelines designed to direct its implementation. Additionally, an ecological barrier is constructed through a trinity of wind and tide resistance, ecological flood control, and sponge city flood management.
