Xi’an Fanchuan Park Waterfront Boardwalk

Project Profile

Fanchuan Park is located along both sides of the Xiao River in Changning New District, Xi’an, covering about 507 mu (approximately 33.8 hectares). As a multifunctional urban park combining ecological restoration, nature observation, recreation, and cultural experience, its waterfront boardwalk plays a central role.

Stretching 1,216 meters across the river and linking the northern and southern sections of the park, the boardwalk serves as a visual and experiential landmark.

Taking advantage of the site’s topography, the design incorporates elevated viewing platforms, water-accessible pathways, and forested surroundings to create a rich sequence of spatial experiences. With its meandering path connecting observation towers, river islands, and public spaces, the park has become a beloved destination for local residents and a new symbol of urban nature in everyday life.
