Tangshan Super Greenway and Landscape Bridge across Nanhu Avenue

Tangshan is famously known as the "Phoenix City" of China, and the Tangshan Super Ecological Corridor adopts the phoenix as its central design theme. The landscape bridge is inspired by the concept of "A Graceful Phoenix Dancing Along the Greenway." The color palette, derived from the hues of a phoenix, flows gradually along different segments of the corridor, adapting to the local context and harmonizing with the surrounding environment.

The Tangshan Super Greenway spans 10.5 km, with steel box girder bridges and 4-meter-wide decks. The bridges feature stainless steel colored side panels and are elevated to traverse diverse landmarks, including the Donghu Flower Sea, Douhe River, Dacheng Mountain Park, Phoenix Mountain Park, Dazhao Park, Earthquake Memorial Plaza, film base, and the Nanhu Scenic Area. The project links three mountains, three parks, one lake, and one flower sea, weaving these ecological nodes into a continuous chain and forming a first-class national ecological landscape corridor.

The landscape bridges that wind through vibrant city parks and bustling urban areas are predominantly painted in red, symbolizing the phoenix reborn from fire—an emblem of immortality—as well as evoking the fiery steel that reflects Tangshan's industrial heritage and spirit of perseverance. At night, the bridges are illuminated to resemble a golden phoenix dancing beside the Nanhu Scenic Area. The landscape bridge at Xinhua Avenue near the Tangshan Earthquake Memorial Monument is designed with a subdued silver-gray tone, showing solemn respect for the nearby memorial and integrating seamlessly with its environment, thereby emphasizing its commemorative significance.

The construction of the Tangshan Ecological Corridor is a people-centered initiative that greatly improves the city's recreational infrastructure and travel convenience. It is also a symbol of urban regeneration, significantly enhancing Tangshan’s urban image, enriching its cultural narrative, and contributing to its goal of becoming a livable, business-friendly, and tourist-attractive modern international city.
